Installation
Notes: Wire Cutter’s are very sharp and should be used with extreme care.
Wiring should be completed by a certied professional as per the local safety and
building code guidelines.
1. Carefully using a strip the jacket o of the 1.5” from the end Wire Cutter UTC Cable,
of the cable exposing the four pairs of twisted wires.
2. Spread the four pairs of twisted wires apart.
Note: CAT5e cables have a pull sting that will need to be removed.
CAT6 Cables have a spine that will need to be removed.
3. Untwist the four pairs of wires, creating eight separate wires.

4. Arrange the eight wires using either the T568A or T568B pattern. See Wire
Orientation for more information.
5. Using the , cut the eight wires 0.5” from the end of the wires, leaving a Wire Cutters
clean straight cut at the end of the wires.
6. Carefully insert the wires in the . Ensure that each of the wires Modular Connector
passes through the guides that are inside of the .Modular Connector
7. Push the into the slot in the and squeeze down Modular Connector Crimping Tool
on the handle to secure the wires in the .Modular Connector
8. Repeat steps 1 - 7 on the other end of the .UTC Cable
9. Using the on both ends of the to test each of the pins in the Cable Tester UTC Cable
Modular Connector.
