AUDIO OVER CAT BOX FROM ETHERCON TO 4 × XLR MALE
INTRODUCTION
This Palmer AoC product was developed to transmit audio signals reliably
over long distances without loss or hum via Cat cable. Up to four bal-
anced analogue channels or up to eight channels in digital AES3 format
can be transmitted. The compact and modular design is suitable for a
wide range of applications in the studio, on stage and in permanent instal-
lations. This product is suitable for use with phantom power. Preferably use
balanced cables for analogue signal transmission, as these are significant-
ly less susceptible to interference than unbalanced cables. Digital signal
transmission in AES3 format requires balanced cabling.
CONNECTIONS
Plug a shielded Cat cable (Cat5e or better) with etherCON plugs (or com-
patible) into the etherCON INPUT socket and connect the other end of the
cable to another Palmer AoC Box (e.g. PAOCBXLRF), a Palmer AoC Loom
or another suitable Palmer device with AoC interface (or other devices
with AES72 type 5E pin assignment). The second etherCON socket THRU is
intended for forwarding the signals.
LIFT / GND: Switch for disconnecting the ground connection of AoC INPUT
and AoC THRU (switch position LIFT = ground disconnected). The ability
to prevent a humming loop using the ground lift switch depends on the
grounding of the connected devices. It is therefore possible that either
switch position effectively reduces or eliminates humming.
Connect the male XLR sockets 1 to 4 to the balanced inputs of an active
speaker, amplifier, mixer, audio interface, etc. or to the AES3 inputs of a
digital audio device. Different devices can be used at the same time.

AUDIO OVER CAT BOX VON ETHERCON AUF 4 × XLR MALE
EINFÜHRUNG
Dieses Palmer AoC Produkt wurde entwickelt, um Audiosignale zuverlässig
über weite Strecken verlust- und brummfrei per Cat-Kabel zu übertragen.
Dabei können bis zu vier symmetrische Kanäle analog bzw. bis zu acht
Kanäle im digitalen AES3-Format übertragen werden. Das kompakte und
modulare Design eignet sich für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen im Studio,
auf der Bühne und bei Festinstallationen. Dieses Produkt ist für die Ver-
wendung einer Phantomspeisung geeignet. Verwenden Sie bei analoger
Signalübertragung vorzugsweise symmetrische Kabel, da diese deutlich
weniger störanfällig sind als unsymmetrische Kabel. Digitale Signalübertra-
gung im AES3-Format erfordert symmetrische Verkabelung.
ANSCHLÜSSE
Stecken Sie ein abgeschirmtes Cat-Kabel (Cat5e oder besser) mit etherCON-
Steckern (oder kompatibel) in die etherCON-Buchse INPUT und verbinden
das andere Ende des Kabels mit einer weiteren Palmer AoC Box (z. B.
PAOCBXLRF), einem Palmer AoC Loom oder einem anderen geeigneten
Palmer-Gerät mit AoC-Schnittstelle (oder andere Geräte mit AES72 Typ 5E
Pinbelegung). Die zweite etherCON-Buchse THRU ist zum Weiterleiten der
Signale vorgesehen.
LIFT / GND: Schalter zum Trennen der Masseverbindung von AoC INPUT
und AoC THRU (Schalterposition LIFT = Masseverbindung getrennt).
Die Fähigkeit, mit Hilfe des Ground Lift-Schalters eine Brummschleife zu
verhindern, hängt von der Erdung der angeschlossenen Geräte ab. Es
besteht daher die Möglichkeit, dass sowohl die eine, als auch die andere
Schalterposition in der Lage ist, ein Brummen wirkungsvoll zu reduzieren
bzw. zu beseitigen.
Verbinden Sie die männlichen XLR-Buchsen 1 bis 4 mit den symmetrischen
Eingängen einer Aktivbox, eines Verstärkers, Mischpults, Audio-Interfaces
usw. oder mit den AES3-Anschlüssen eines digitalen Audiogeräts. Es können

BOÎTIER AUDIO SUR MULTIPAIRE CAT ETHERCON VERS 4 XLR MÂLES
INTRODUCTION
Ce produit Palmer AoC a été conçu pour transporter en toute fiabilité
des signaux audio sur de longues distances sur un câble réseau de type
Cat, sans perte ni parasites. Il est possible de transporter jusqu'à quatre
canaux symétriques en analogique ou jusqu'à huit canaux au format
numérique AES3. Sa conception compacte et modulaire convient à une
grande variété d'applications en studio, sur scène et pour les installations
fixes. Ce produit est adapté à l'utilisation d'une alimentation fantôme. Pour
la transmission de signaux analogiques, utilisez de préférence des câbles
symétriques, car ils sont nettement moins sensibles aux interférences que
les câbles asymétriques. La transmission de signaux numériques au format
AES3 nécessite un câblage symétrique.
RACCORDEMENTS
Branchez un câble Cat blindé (Cat5e ou mieux) muni de connecteurs
etherCON (ou compatibles) dans l'embase etherCON etconnectez l'autre
extrémité du câble à un autre boîtier Palmer AoC (par exemple, PAOCLBXLRF),
un épanoui Palmer AoC ou un autre appareil Palmer approprié doté d'une
interface AoC (ou d'autres appareils avec un brochage AES72 type 5E). Le
second connecteur etherCON THRU est destinée au renvoi des signaux.
LIFT / GND: sélecteur permettant de déconnecter la liaison de masse en-
tre l'AoC INPUT et l'AoC THRU (sélecteur en position LIFT = liaison de masse
déconnectée). L'efficacité du levage de masse pour supprimer une ron-
flette dépend des modalités de la mise à la terre des appareils connectés.
Il est donc possible que ce soit l’une ou l’autre des positions du sélecteur
qui parvienne à réduire ou à éliminer efficacement une ronflette.
Connectez les embases XLR mâles 1 à 4 aux entrées symétriques d'une
enceinte active, d'un amplificateur, d'une console de mixage, d'une inter-
face audio, etc. ou aux connecteurs AES3 d'un appareil audio numérique.

Ce produit est un appareil destiné à la technique de sonorisation, aux applications de
studio, de télévision et de diffusion.
Il a été conçu pour un usage professionnel dans les domaines susmentionnés et ne
convient pas à une utilisation domestique.
De plus, ce produit est uniquement destiné aux utilisateurs qualifiés possédant des con-
naissances spécialisées en technique de sonorisation, mais aussi sur les applications de
studio, de télévision et de diffusion.
